NBSC General Meeting Monday Dec 13th at 11:00 AM followed by light lunch.

Re-Elect Jency Kelly President of the Board.

There is no reason to believe that the opposition candidate, who gives almost NO time to NBSC now will give the Center More time if elected President.

The Proof Is In the Pudding folks

During the past year, under Jency Kelly's leadership, we have:

Instituted strict spending limits for all board members and the Operations manager. (NOT doing so cost the Center $30,000.00 in "wasted" money in 2003. Since instituting changes, we have had only one instance of excess. That was the purchase of a Desk for the lobby without board approval ($1,200.00 approximately) .

Removed from committees the possibility of the committee binding the NBSC to contractual obligations without board approval.

Brought in Florida Telecom Relay to GIVE away telephone and communications equipment to the hearing and vision impaired.

Finished the planning for the expansion of the NBSC facility. We did so with a firm belief that it would have been impossible for the NBSC to support the proposed addition of 1600 sq.ft. of air-conditioned space.

Contracted for the planned upgrading and expansion of our facility to begin in January 2005. New bathrooms will be constructed off the Gold Room. Following that, the old bathrooms in the hall off the lobby will be completely remodeled. Then we will construct a first-class stage to replace the existing stage..

Obtained funding and commitments from the county to place NBSC signs on Lane Avenue.

Worked with Brevard Alzhiemer's Association to obtain funding for a day-care center being constructed adjacent to NBSC.

Put in place a procedure to introduce candidates for board officers positions to the General Membership prior to the General Members meeting in December, when elections take place.

Brought three new members onto our board of directors (one of whom we lost due to personal reasons).

Built this web-site, at no cost to NBSC.

Found a first-class couple to expedite the NBSC newsletter in aftermath of inappropriate behavior on the part of three people (all of whom are on the board).
